Water

Why do you feel less thirsty in winter—but that doesn’t mean you’re hydrated enough?

Because winter kind of “tricks” your body 😄 When it’s cold, you sweat less and your thirst signal gets quieter. But you still lose water—especially from breathing dry heated air—and hot drinks like coffee/black tea can add a mild diuretic effect.

Signs you might be under-drinking:

  • dark yellow urine (stronger smell too)
  • dry mouth/skin
  • headaches, low energy

Easy ways to stay on track:

  • keep a bottle nearby and sip throughout the day
  • use an “anchor”: a glass in the morning + before each meal
  • alternate coffee/tea with water (a simple 1:1 habit helps)

If our app tracks water 💧:

  • set your go-to bottle size as a “quick add” (like 300–500 ml)
  • turn on reminders every 2–3 hours
  • log not only water but also unsweetened tea / lemon water if the app allows it

Tiny joke: in winter, thirst is basically hibernating—but you shouldn’t 😉
