Water

Can coffee replace water?

In short: nope 🙂 Coffee isn’t “water 2.0.” It does contain water, but caffeine has a mild diuretic effect, so relying on coffee instead of plain water isn’t a great plan.

✅ Better approach:

  • Make water your daily baseline.
  • Coffee can be a bonus (1–3 cups is fine for most people).
  • If you feel dry mouth or get a headache after coffee, that’s often your body saying “more water, please.”

📱 In our app: if it tracks water intake, log coffee separately as “coffee/drink,” and log plain water in the “water” section. Pro tip: set a rule like “one glass of water after each coffee” and turn on reminders 🔔

P.S. Coffee is love, but water is the foundation 😄
