Why does your body kind of “fear” cutting fats to zero?
Because fats aren’t the villain—they’re essential building blocks and a backup battery 🔋🙂 When you drop fat intake to zero, your body may push back:
- Hormones: fats help produce certain hormones. Too little can mess with mood, libido, and (for many) the menstrual cycle.
- Brain & nerves: your brain relies on fats (hello, omega‑3). Focus and energy can dip.
- Vitamins A, D, E, K: they’re fat‑soluble, so you absorb them worse without dietary fat.
- Skin & hair: dryness and brittleness can show up when fats are chronically too low.
- Satiety: no fats often = less fullness, more cravings and snacking (your body hunts for energy).
A sane approach (no extremes):
- Pick better fats: olive oil, avocado, nuts, seeds, fatty fish.
- Don’t do “0% forever”—your body isn’t a robot 😄
How to use this in our app 📱:
- Log your meals and check your macros (fat/protein/carbs).
- If fat is consistently very low, do an easy fix: add 1 tbsp olive oil to a salad or a small handful of nuts.
- Watch the weekly trend, not a single day—consistency wins.
