Why can my weight резко jump (up or down) after a party?
Because it’s usually not fat, it’s just your body doing “party after-effects” 😄
- Salt + snacks (chips, pizza, sauces) → your body holds onto water, so the scale can jump 1–3 kg overnight.
- Alcohol can dehydrate you at first (lower weight in the morning), then your body rebounds and retains water.
- Lots of carbs (desserts, bread, cocktails) → you refill glycogen, and glycogen pulls water with it (roughly +3 g water per 1 g glycogen).
- Late eating + more food volume in your gut → extra scale weight that hasn’t “turned into fat.”
- Poor sleep after partying raises stress hormones → more water retention.
What to do:
- Don’t panic and don’t punish yourself with fasting 🙃 Give it 24–72 hours.
- Drink water, take an easy walk, get back to your normal routine.
- Next day: less salty stuff, simpler meals.
How to use our app 📱:
- Weigh yourself in the morning after the bathroom, same conditions.
- Focus on the 7-day average / trend (the app calculates it) — it shows real progress, not party-day noise.
